Summer Has Arrived with Three New Rosé Wines at Ventosa Vineyards
There’s no better way to celebrate summer in the Finger Lakes than with a glass of chilled rosé overlooking any of the Finger Lakes! We are excited to announce that we now have three brand-new rosé wines available!
Whether you prefer dry, semi-sweet, or sweet wines, our newest lineup has something for everyone. Crafted by our talented winemaker, Joe Gonzalez, each wine showcases a unique style while highlighting the quality of our Finger Lakes fruit.
2025 Dry Rosato
100% Cabernet Franc Rosé
For lovers of crisp, refreshing rosé, our Dry Rosato is the perfect summer companion. Delicate aromas of grapefruit, fresh red berries, and subtle green bell pepper lead into a light, vibrant palate with bright acidity and an elegant finish.
The Cabernet Franc grapes were directly crushed and gently pressed to create its beautiful light salmon color while minimizing phenolic extraction. Cool fermentation in stainless steel preserves fresh, fruit-forward aromatics, while six months of aging on fine lees adds depth and a smooth, lingering finish.
Perfect Pairing: Citrus salad, light seafood, grilled chicken, or simply enjoyed ice cold on a warm summer afternoon.
2025 Salasso Rosato
100% Pinot Noir Rosé
Our Salasso Rosato is rich, expressive, and incredibly inviting. Its gorgeous candied pink hue introduces aromas of ripe strawberries, raspberries, and delicate hints of cream. On the palate, the wine offers generous body, silky texture, and a pleasant touch of sweetness.
The name Salasso is the Italian equivalent of Saignée, meaning “to bleed.” During Pinot Noir fermentation, juice is carefully removed to concentrate the remaining red wine while creating this beautifully rich rosato. Malolactic fermentation combined with six months of fine lees aging gives this wine its signature roundness, while cool stainless steel fermentation preserves its bright fruit character.
As Joe puts it, it’s simply a delicious wine.
Perfect Pairing: Charcuterie boards, artisan cheeses, cured meats, or a relaxing evening with friends.
2025 Dolce Rosato
99% Pinot Grigio • 1% Cabernet Sauvignon
If you enjoy sweeter wines, you’ll love our Dolce Rosato. Bursting with aromas of blueberry, raspberry, and wild bramble, this juicy wine offers luscious sweetness balanced by refreshing acidity.
Made primarily from Pinot Grigio, fermentation was stopped early to retain natural sweetness before adding a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon for its beautiful rosé color. This assemblage style rosato creates an approachable, fruit-forward wine that’s perfect for casual entertaining.
Perfect Pairing: Prosciutto & Fig Pizza, fresh fruit, light desserts, or spicy cuisine.
Crafted by Winemaker Joe Gonzalez
The new rosé collection is an exciting debut for Gonzalez, who joined Ventosa Vineyards after serving as Assistant Winemaker at Weis Vineyards, where the winery earned numerous prestigious accolades, including multiple Winery of the Year honors at the NY Wine Classic competition. His return to Ventosa is particularly meaningful, as he began his winemaking career at Ventosa as a wine-making intern in the cellar.
